Ben ling (Linda) Chen
Barrister & Solicitor
Linda graduated from Beijing Jiaotong University in 1993 with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in electronic engineering. She immigrated to Canada in 2000. From 2003 to 2006, Linda worked in the
civil litigation department of a law firm in Vancouver, as a legal assistant. She was admitted into UBC Faculty of Law in 2006 and graduated in 2009 with a Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree. Linda graduated
with outstanding achievements and was called to the British Columbia Bar in May 2010.
Linda's undergraduate degree is in science, which has helped her hone her logical thinking skills. Her experience as a legal assistant has contributed to her efficient and purposeful approach to the practice of law. After graduation, Linda articled with Kahn Zack Ehrlich Lithwick, a full-service law firm established in Richmond over 30 years ago. During her articles, Linda worked with Mr. Marvin Lithwick and Mr. Lawrence A. Kahn, Q.C., who provided her with invaluable training in legal research and advocacy skills. She also obtained valuable experience in several other areas of the law.
In September 2012, Linda and her Mandarin legal service team joined Kahn Zack Ehrlich Lithwick LLP.
Linda has attended hearings and trials in the Provincial Small Claims Court, Family Court, Provincial Criminal Court and the Supreme Court of British Columbia.
In July 2013, Mr. Xue Song joined the team and took over all civil litigation cases. Since then, Linda focused on solicitor work (non-litigation). In November 2015, Rena Chen jointed the
team. Rena specializes in family law.

Barrister & Solicitor
Song Xue graduated from the Faculty of Law of the University of British Columbia with a Juris Doctor degree in 2008. He was called to the Bar of British Columbia in 2009.
Besides his law degree, Song obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree from the Shanghai International Studies University in1995. He also received a Lawyer's Qualification Certificate in China 1n 1998. He previously worked as a paralegal for the Beijing Representative Offices of two US law firm.
The majority of Song's practice consists of civil litigation, primarily corporate and commercial litigation files. The subject matters of those cases typically involve disputes regarding partners, corporate shareholders or corporations, construction contracts, builders' lien issues, commercial contracts, and the purchase and sale of business assets and real estate properties.
Other areas of Song's litigation practice include personal injury and motor vehicle (ICBC) claims, medical malpractice, general torts, family law litigation and proceedings before administrative tribunals, including immigration appeals.
Song also provides some solicitor's services such as reviewing or drafting commercial contracts including commercial leases, purchase and sale of business and real property, refinancing, wills and estates.
Song has appeared as counsel before the Supreme Court of British Columbia, the Provincial Court of British Columbia, and various administrative tribunals. Song also assists clients in mediation procedures.
Song is fluent in spoken and written Mandarin.
Rena attended the University of British Columbia and graduated with a Bachelor of Music degree with major in Voice and minor in Philosophy in 2010. She graduated law school at the University of Alberta in 2014. Rena articled at a law firm in Edmonton, Alberta, and was called to the bar in 2015. In the same year, she returned home to B.C. and became a member of the Law Society of B.C.
Rena joined Kahn Zack Ehrlich Lithwick LLP as an associate lawyer in 2015.
The majority of Rena's practice consists of family law, with some civil litigation on the side. Rena assists clients through negotiation and the court process on a matter of issues, including divorce, child custody, access and guardianship, child and spousal support, property division, relocation, and cohabitation and separation agreements.
Rena spends her free time enjoying the rain from home or trekking through the many nature trails in B.C.
